| In everyone’s life, there are major influences and defining events that help shape who and what you are. Leadership is about compassion, hard work, dedication and tireless enthusiasm for what you’re doing and whom you’re doing it with. The Leadership Keller program brings together a small group of area professionals for an intensive eight-month study of the many aspects of our community. The curriculum has been designed to allow you to gain optimum insight into a well-rounded blend of information about Keller from many sectors such as business and economics, government, education, health care, human services, problem solving and leadership development.
As a program participant, you will take backstage and behind-the-scenes tours of local schools, hospitals, community service agencies and city offices. You will meet local officials and political leaders and hear the stories of their agencies and programs. During a trip to Austin, you will meet with elected leaders, state personnel and agency department heads.
Through these tours and presentations, you will gain keen insights and a clearer understanding of how our community operates and where there may be needs that you can help fill. You will be challenged by your program leaders and classmates to delve deeper into your leadership studies and to present your findings during a

class session. You will learn the natural cycle of leadership, discovering where you are in the process and setting goals and objectives that will help you advance to the next level.
It is our hope and intent that this program will give you the information, tools and relationships to become a leader – or to become a better leader – no matter what venture, situation or station in life you find yourself. This program promises to help you become part of a forward-thinking movement in Keller and to derive a high level of personal satisfaction from newly gained insights, knowledge and relationships. Finally, you will form lasting friendships with fellow Leadership Keller participants as you experience this exciting program together.
This program is not for everyone. Attendance at each of the eight sessions is mandatory, and you will be challenged to participate in special projects during many of the classes.
