FEATURES – With a great Metroplex location, continuous growth, community pride, strong parental involvement, innovative educational programs and excellent facilities, Keller Independent School District has earned its reputation as one of the best districts in the state of Texas.
GROWTH – Our school system has seen steady growth, making KISD one of the fastest-growing school districts in the state of Texas. Each year our student population increases by approximately 1,200. Enrollment for 2009-2010 was approximately 31,600 students with 3,000 employees. The student-to-teacher ratio averages 23-to-1. The district’s fourth high school opened for the 2009-10 school year. A new 5th through 8th campus will open August 2010.
REPUTATION – The district is known for its academic and extracurricular excellence. Students advance through a four-tier system: kindergarten through 4th grade elementary schools, 5th and 6th grade intermediate schools, 7th and 8th grade middle schools, and 9th through 12th grade high schools. Presently, Keller ISD has 21 elementary campuses, five intermediate campuses, five middle school campuses, four high school campuses and the New Directions Learning Center. The 2008-2009 State Accountability System rated KISD as a Recognized district. Within the district there are 17 Exemplary campuses, 15 schools are Recognized, and 2 received an Acceptable rating.

INFORMATION – Notice of changes in regular school days and school hours (i.e. severe weather) will be released by the Superintendent at the earliest possible time to the local television stations and to radio station WBAP 820 AM. Notices will also be posted on the district website.

ATTENDANCE AREAS – Information regarding attendance zones can be obtained from the Demographics Department by visiting kellerisd.net.
TRANSPORTATION – For information on transportation-—which bus to ride, pick-up time and location—you may contact Durham School Services at 817-744-1300, or you can go online to the KISD website, click on the Students & Families tab, select Need to Know from the drop-down menu, then Transportation Services, in the left column, then select the Find Your Bus Route Link. This will take you to the Transfinder website which has helpful information.
USING SCHOOL FACILITIES – Keller ISD is very proud of the quality of its facilities and takes seriously its responsibility to care for and maintain them in an orderly, clean and safe manner. It is our goal to provide all citizens of Keller ISD and other interested parties a quality experience whenever our facilities are used for non-school purposes. It is our hope you will enjoy the facilities that are available to you and recognize that safe, proper usage of school property is in the best interest of everyone.
All tennis courts and recreational fields are available for use for individuals on a first-come, first-served basis after school and not to interfere with scheduled school activities, leagues and instructional use, based on facility request and approval.
